I am starting a new page on my pretty little boat S/V Eleanor. Here, I plan write about her in the technical way, and document the modifications that I made to her. Follow the subpages link above this page to see the cosmetic or functional modifications that I have made so far.

To see all my sailing experience on Eleanor posting, follow this link https://funvinyldecals.wordpress.com/tag/sailing-eleanor-cape-dory-typhoon/ .

SV Eleanor

S/V Eleanor is a 18.5ft Cape Dory Typhoon Weekender built in 1974, hull #949. She is Singapore registered and currently stored on a trailer in Port Townsend, WA, USA.

She was previously sailing around Singapore and Malaysian waters. I shipped her back to the states when I moved to the Pacific Northwest. Port Townsend is our base camp for our new adventures.

(Flashback: I have big plans for this little boat. Eleanor is to sail around this SE Asia region, visiting Tioman, Langkawi, Phuket, … etc and .. maybe even Kuching and Miri! In the subpages (links you can find near the header), I will be documenting some of my prep work on getting her ready to cruise. Jun 2010 is the target date for sailing Eleanor to Tioman.)

Well, my plans for sailing Eleanor in Asia did not happen… I coulda, but I didn’t make it happen. Plans changed, and now to sail the more pleasant waters of the Inside Passage… and just maybe, we might get to Alaska… dreaming…

In the meantime, I am trying to fix and upgrade afew things on Eleanor.. she is at this time, not a cruising boat. No galley, no electric system for basic navigation lights, a painful anchoring system for the single hander. I will document these projects and afew cosmetic ones in the subpages.

That sounds like a one spectacular adventure! I just moved up from my 15′ Mercury to a CD Typhoon. Still power washing, scraping, scrubbing, buffing and bottom painting to get ready for the summer season here on Nantucket, MA, USA. I look forward to following your progress…and buying some decals once I decide on a name for Her:) In the meantime enjoy safe travels and rich ports.

    Regards,
    Drew Singleton
