We see light! Finally!

How long has it been since we started building Calliste’s mast? Tsunami was 26th Dec 2004, and now finally mast is anodized and almost ready to install.

I have written about mast building before. Click on the BCC tab under tags (small column on the right hand side) for the previous Calliste repairs update.

Catching up on the news, sanding on the bits.

The last few days before anodizing. Thats me working away thru the night… sanding the small bits, setup infront of the TV… that helps alot. Wish I had cable.. BTW, this CNY time off helps. We worked everyday, except for a short walking trip…

I am trucking again!

And me driving the borrowed truck, delivering the bits to Kong Heng Metal Finishing.

See! I can drive a truck!

The mast sections were delivered a week earlier by a transport company as they needed a bigger truck that I am not licensed to drive.

Bright and shiny, ready for anodizing.

And yes. Here a pic of my work. See, all bright and shiny. It took hours, energy, patience and determination to do them all. Not an easy task.

BTW, all these bits and more not shown in the picture, were 100% fabricated by Doug! Using only the equipment that we can afford to buy, and so it takes alot of time.. but it turn out real good. And for anodizing, we choose the high end, type 3 40um process by a ISO certified operations. Yes, we paid top dollar for it, but we have good confidence that it is going to last much longer and better than painting with AWLgrip.
