Making faces. …

I cant think of a better name for this post. I am, really, making faces… :) :P

Chinese painted face on a building

Was on my way to the lawyers’ office in Maxwell Road, near Chinatown, and saw this painted face on a building. It certainly was super eye-catching! Just grabbed me. That one did. Then I thought this was a great idea for making decals. … for laptops! Among other things..

Peking opera face

Blue! Chinese painted faces.

Doug thought its material for nightmares… HAH! They do kinda look fierce… but I like the colors. And the colors do have meaning… according to my google research.. Blues and Greens are usually righteous rebellious charactors, Reds are justice and authority, Whites are comedians or lesser roles, Yellow are for Royalty. .. Something like that…

Making faces!

My assembly plant. 1st, cut the different colors and the clear. Then, use a transfer tape to lift the clear off the backing, align carefully onto the face color, ie blue. Then lift off clear with the blue, and align carefully onto the black. Finally, lift off clear with blue and black, align carefully onto the red.

Ta Da! My rebellious Blue face is done!

The more traditional colors... red and blue, chinese opera faces

Ok, repeat the same for Red and Yellow. I make a dozen in an hour… :)

Opps, 1 yellow is misaligned! Can never be to careful about alignment! A little bit off and it really shows!

Peking opera faces

Yellow! Drats! One of them is misaligned!

So! What d’ ya think? Too much work for these ugly looking things? Yeah, they are not pretty, just damn fascinating … me thinks.

.. Now I need to find a laptop to put this on..

Sticky’s new product! Iron On Decal

Just what I wanted! Kitty on my back

I am so excited about this new thing. Its just so great! I can have my own most unique T-shirt! Look! I always wanted a cat on my back.

Decal cut and ready for ironing

I have had some queries from my sticker customers for T-shirt printing.. which I didnt use to do.. and this is still not the same as printing. Its IRON-ON!

Ironing with a translucent paper.

1st, cut the decal on a thermal vinyl decal material. This material is different from the sticker vinyl that I usually use. .. but its really the same in a way. The machine for making these decals is the same.. and they are both vinyl…

Peel off the clear backing sheet, decal is now on the fabric

Place the decal, plastic side up, on the fabric (polyester and cotton blends only). Place a thin sheet of translucent paper (comes with new T-shirts) on the decal, or another thin T-shirt fabric will do just fine.

Decal is now on the T-shirt. Dun worry about the square residue, it washes off.

Iron for 15seconds, highest heat you can get. Let cool for 30 seconds, it okay to peel off the backing clear plastic when still warm.

You may see a slight residue of the sticky residue from the backing plastic on the fabric, but no worries, it washes off. .. so tada! thats it. you got it!

Now you can order your very own personalized custom decal from me! Write to me at sticky.business@yahoo.com and check out my other blog, http://coolvinyldecals.wordpress.com  for more designs.
